1. ARE YOU A HS SOPHOMORE WHO IS INTERESTED IN ENGINEERING? VISIT VIRGINIA TECH

This is your chance to explore one of the nation’s top-ranked engineering schools in the country and have fun while you do. The College of Engineering at Virginia Tech is embarking on a long term plan to increase the numbers of African American, Hispanic, American Indian and women students admitted to and enrolling in their undergraduate engineering and computer science degree programs. 2. BARUCH COLLEGE

18. WOMEN IN ENGINEERING SUMMER CAMP AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY

This is a summer residential camp for students currently in 9th and 10th grade. Campers work with Purdue women engineering students on hands – on activities such as designing materials for disaster relief efforts.

Engineering for your Imagination

Camp costs $400 which covers tuition, room and board and materials and supplies.

EDGE Camp

is designed to better acquaint participants with opportunities in engineering and to show them how their interests and talents can be utilized to make a world of difference. EDGE camp costs $450.

22. WPI – Worcester Polytechnic Institute

WPI Frontiers and Launch program. Available to HS juniors and seniors. Frontiers Program blends science, technology and engineering programs with communication workshops in the humanities and arts. Launch Program is a learning and research opportunity designed for students entering their freshman and sophomore years in HS. TUITION REQUIRED

23. NORWICH UNIVERSITY – FUTURE LEADER CAMP

Develop your leadership skills. Two week camp. Participants are evaluated by their counselor and peers. FLC affords young men and women an environment where they can sharpen their leadership skills. Instill basic principles of teamwork, leadership and effective communications while enhancing self-confidence, self-respect and self-discipline. FLC IS NOT A MILITARY BOOT CAMP FOR DISCIPLINARY PROBLEMS!

26. THE COALITION FOR ASIAN AMERICAN CHILDREN AND FAMILIES (ASAP)

Become a Youth Leader. ASAP stands for Asian American Student Advocacy Project. This is a youth leadership and advocacy project that trains a group of HS youth to make their voices heard. Additional information in 7S2.

27. ST. JOHN’S UNIVERSITY – SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Available to rising seniors. Courses available in Liberal Arts, non-lab science, math, and social science. Tuition $1000

28. MANHATTAN COLLEGE

29. HARLEM CHILDREN SOCIETY INTENSIVE SUMMER STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) & ALLIED SCIENCES INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

31. BOROUGH OF MANHATTAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE (BMCC) 2011 Summer Hs Enrichment Program

Beginning July 6 – August 10, Monday – Thursdays, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. Responsibility of Participant: participants are expected to engage actively in all research responsibilities, seminars, and social and recreational activities from the opening orientation to the research report day at the conclusion of the program. Participants are also expected to adhere to all regulations of BMCC regarding student conduct. DEADLINE: MAY 31. Application in 7S2.
